When I became a Flight Attendant I read in our style guide, “Mascara, lipstick, and blush are recommended.” I had to laugh to myself reading that gentle suggestion because as a beauty enthusiast, I certainly did not need to be told twice to wear some makeup!
With a passion for aesthetics, I have always enjoyed the photos of flight attendants over the years. I love how put together they looked with their hair, makeup, and tailored uniforms. From the first day of this career, I made it my mission to bring back the Golden Era of Flying through detailed attention to personal presentation (and through excellent service and compassion toward my passengers). We may live in very different times, but respecting yourself enough to put in effort to look your best doesn’t go out of style, nor does kindness.
If there is one beauty brand that resonates with glamorous style, it is Charlotte Tilbury. The entire aesthetic is bursting with elegant “Old Hollywood” vibes in warm shades of pink, brown, and shimmering gold. The quality rose gold packaging is beautiful to look at, and the makeup products look stunning on all skin tones. The magic is how Charlotte Tilbury makeup allows the wearer to radiate a “glow-from-within” beauty.
My Travel-Ready Charlotte Tilbury Products
1.) “Look of Love” – Instant Look in a Palette in “Pretty Blushed Beauty”
This face palette is the main catalyst for today’s blog post. It is the perfect travel accessory for a flight attendant’s makeup bag. This compact package contains bronzer, blush, highlight, face powder, and several eye shadows. This cuts down on what I need to bring with me on my trips, thus lightening the weight of my bag. I love these colors for my complexion as they are subtle but lovely. The blush is especially nice. There is an additional color scheme for those who want more intensity, the Glowing Beauty Palette.
2.) Airbrush Flawless Foundation
The full-coverage nature of this foundation is what I love about it. It lasts all day and doesn’t budge, which is important because I often work 12 hours. If I want to look polished all day, this is my go-to foundation.
3.) These Three Lipsticks
- The Queen – This pink rosy jewel matte lipstick gives just as much glamour-appeal as a true red, but with a slightly different look.
- Pillow Talk Medium – A spin off of Charlotte Tilbury’s most famous “Pillow Talk” lipstick, I personally like the slightly more intense pop of this berry pink matte. Recently in London, I spotted so many ladies wearing some variation of Pillow Talk!
- Screen Siren – I have never stopped loving a classic red lip. While this exact product is discontinued, this lipstick would be a suitable color alternative.
In addition to the Charlotte Tilbury products mentioned in this post, during my work trips I only carry a brow pencil. mascara, and 2 lip liners. I am wearing the same foundation and face palette makeup in each of the photos above, but you can see how these three lipsticks give off a different vibes depending on my mood. I feel like I have finally found the solution to traveling light, but also feeling polished and glamorous. What are your favorite makeup products for traveling?
