I am overjoyed and honored to have had my photo chosen to be featured in Cunard’s ‘Sea Views’ Photo Exhibition. This photo exhibit was carefully curated by highly respected British photographer Mary McCartney. The gallery features lovely vintage photos from the Cunard archives, as well as 100 photos chosen from a pool of Cunard passenger submissions. This exhibit is to celebrate Cunard’s 100 years at sea, 1923 to 2023. To view the exhibit online, please see https://cunardseaviews.com/
“I’m pleased to curate an exhibition within this treasure trove of 100 years of on-board photography. I’m looking forward to exploring the archives and the crowdsourced images to hand pick a portfolio of iconic images that will reflect a century of luxury travel.”

This photo was taken on my Cannon Digital Rebel with a self timed camera, on the night of a 1920’s themed gala evening. Cunard hosts fabulous themed gala nights throughout the voyage, and as a fashionista and seamstress one of my delights is to sew dresses and outfits for these voyages. I created a blog post about sewing this dress, which you may view here. The dress was sewn using McCalls sewing pattern 8037, and the turban hat was self drafted. I used a “Tiffany Blue” stretch fabric which features tiny rhinestones all over. On the same voyage I also wore a red velvet version of the same dress. When I took this photo, I wanted it to look like I was in fact, a vintage lady at sea. If you know me at all, that won’t surprise you! As an old soul, I cherish Cunard because it makes me feel like I can escape to a simpler more elegant time.
Being a part of this photo exhibit is certainly something I will always cherish! Thanks for taking a peek! I hope you will check out the link and see the wide variety of photos over 100 years at sea.
