Browsing Etsy, I discovered this beautiful Vintage Swimsuit by Cole of California! The seller took such wonderful photos of the construction, these are too good not to share! I have been looking for close up pictures of vintage swimwear because I’d like to attempt to make a vintage swim sewing pattern this year.
The swimwear back then was quite exquisite! There are many panels and layers here, boning, and a metal zipper with snaps. The fabric: 59% acetate, 34% cotton, 7% rubber.
This suit is very similar to this year’s collection by Chloe, don’t you think?
While this vintage swimsuit is worth every bit of the $172 asking price, I would like to challenge myself to make something like this for less! Stay tuned as the summer progresses because I may just be dreaming up some “resort wear” plans!
