As we quickly approach our departure day for Milan, I’m excited to share with you my ensemble I created for Milan Frocktails 2025!
You can see my post where I talk about what inspired me. I decided to pay homage to Dolce & Gabbana couture runway shows. I have always loved the “more is more” looks sent down the catwalk, featuring florals, gold, tons of embellishments, and Roman influences. I like the “historical” look.

The Long Detailed Video:

I made the corset using B5935 and the skirt M8005.

The purse is hand painted on a thrift store find! It features an illustration in tribute to the event, and the other side has our last name, the coat of arms, and the town in Italy where my husband’s family is from. We are going to be visiting that town!

The sacred heart earrings were found at Marshalls on sale! Then I painted a heart on them with red nail polish and added beads.

I built a base with stiff felt as shown above. It was hot glue gunned on, and then I proceeded to add all my many embellishments. Most importantly, my clay created “scroll” which says “I love sewing” in Italian.

I wanted to make my husband a shirt to wear to the gala night as well. It is also inspired by Dolce and Gabbana, and the fabric was bought on Spoonflower in Sport Pique to help him stay cool. The pattern I used is B3049.
