Working in aviation as a flight attendant is not just a job, it is a lifestyle. Today I will tell you about my favorite flight attendant products that I find either essential, or add joy. This post contains affiliate links, please read my disclosure.
Luggage
Travel Pro -This luggage is well made, and it meets the requirements for crew luggage. I have been happy with it. I can often get away with using the smaller suitcase.
Travel Pro Maxlite luggage
Packing Cubes – like these – I use a large one for my pajamas, sweatshirt, leggings underwear, and another one for workout clothes. I have one for electronics (i.e. charging cords, battery back up, etc). I like how these help to organize my things into categories, and I can easily and quickly move them between my large and small suitcase, depending on how long the trip is.
My Favorite Pantyhose
The best pantyhose I have found, MANZI brand on Amazon – I tried several brands that ended up ripping very quickly before coming across these. They are quite sturdy, and when you wash them they look brand new. They are a bit on the thicker side, so they also help me to stay warm. But they are not fleece or wool, so they are not too hot for summer.
Safety Products
Portable Hotel Safety Lock – This is a great extra tool to protect your hotel room when you are in it.
Since I cannot bring a gun or pepper spray when working as a flight attendant, my mom got me this wonderful egg shaped key chain, that has a pin you pull in an emergency and it will make an extremely loud sound.
Food Related Products
Ebags Crew Cooler lunchbox – I have been very happy with my Ebags crew cooler. The top part is for those things you do not need to keep cold, and the main compartment can hold enough food to get me by on a 3-4 day trip.
Set of 3 pink polka dot ice bags _ I use these inside the lunch bag. There is always ice available at hotels, or on the plane, so filling these with ice is not a problem.
The Hot Logic Mini , mine is pink – I absolutely love this product! Many times hotel rooms do not have microwaves, but even if they do, I still prefer to use this because it heats the food more evenly and it tastes better. Ahead of time I prepare meals into glass containers and freeze them. When I get to the hotel, I just zip the food into the box, plug it in, and go to the gym for an hour. When I come back I have a nice hot meal.
Glass locking meal prep containers, like these. You can get these at many stores, and I really like them because the glass allows them to warm up evenly in my hot logic.
The Dash Mini Griddle My brother got me this for Christmas. I make eggs on it, and you can cook a burger on it if you want!
Travel Set of fork, spoon and knife by Joseph Joseph These are magnetic together, and then you slip them into the silicone container to keep them together. Perfect traveling cutlery set.
Listerine Breath Strips I use these on the plane all the time. It’s part of our job to not have offensive breath! These are convenient and small to carry,
Cosmetics & Beauty
A small cosmetics bag with a brush holder. The one I use is Caboodles, but here is a very similar one. I use only 7 makeup products, and this small organized case is the perfect way to store them separate from the toiletries.
A roll up toiletries bag with a hanger , very similar to this, but I got mine at Kroger. For all of the additional, non-cosmetic toiletries, this is what I use. Every hotel has a hook in the bathroom to hang it up easily.
This red lipstick by Besame Cosmetics, in American Beauty. It matches my scarves exactly, and it lasts all day.
Blonde Bun Donuts, in various sizes , bobby pins, and I like to wear a pearl barrette This is the way I do my hair for work on most days. I use a bun donut to make a polished bun, I put a uniform – matching scrunchie around it to hide the pinning, and I sometimes put on a barrette.
Black Goody Scrunchies, to put over the bun
Remington Travel Size Hot Rollers If I do not do my hair in my “flight attendant bun”, I like to use hot rollers and put it back in a ponytail. These travel hot rollers are much smaller than my larger set.
Apparel and Accessories
Comfortable Leopard Pajamas, very similar to these – I got these leopard velour pajamas for Christmas from my mom and I love them. It is so nice to change from a uniform into them and just relax in the hotel room.
Boots
The best compliant flight attendant boots I have found are Cole Haan with Nike Air insoles, which I bought on Ebay. Unfortunately they are not in production now, which makes me sad. These boots are teamed up with Nike, so while they look elegant, they feel incredibly comfortable to wear standing up for 10 hours or so. They also meet all the requirements of only 1 buckle, no more than 3″ tall, not patent leather, and knee length. I like the toe shape and the heel height. I hope once these wear out I can find the same pair again! I did find these, which might be a close alternative.
Flight Attendant Heels – The “Kiera” pump by Trotters in black leather – These are very simple and comfortable. They are a little big, so next time I might size down a half size. But even having said that, with a tiny bit of padding they fit and feel fine.
A pink & silver watch (from my husband), similar here. This is a required item, and I treasure mine because it is from my husband.
Black cross-body purse, I did a post about this purse here
