Step right this way for the Magical Mystery Tour!

Beatlemania hit me in 5th grade in the year 1995 when a television series, The Beatles Anthology came out in a series of 8 over several weeks. I already knew many Beatles songs from listening to the “Olidies 93.5” Toledo radio station , but that documentary help put it all together for me! Before long I had Beatles posters on my wall, and my brother and I would pool our money together to buy Beatle cassette tapes at the Finder’s Record store in downtown Bowling Green, Ohio.
Fast forward all these years, my husband and I had an opportunity to travel to Liverpool which happens to be the Headquarters of Cunard, for a Cunard photography event I’m a part of. It was paramount to us to get to explore the Beatles history while in Liverpool since we both love the band.
Joe and I booked tickets on the Magical Mystery Tour bus. It is painted very similarly to the iconic Beatles MMT bus, and it takes guests on a journey around town to the historic Beatles spots.

After experiencing the Magical Mystery Tour with driver Steve and tour guide Tony, Joe and I can’t recommend the experience enough! For roughly $30 USD we had the enjoyment of a 2 hour, sight seeing journey on the authentically painted, comfortable bus. Along the route Tony informed the guests about historic notes of interest and played relevant Beatles music tied to the scene or the Beatle for which we were visiting the home of. We actually parked and got off the bus to see George Harrison’s home, Penny Lanc, Strawberry Fields, Paul’s home, and at the end we were released at The Cavern Club. The bus ticket included entry into the Cavern Club as well. In addition we saw Ringo, and John’s homes driving by, and so much more.

Above you will see a Fiat in front of a home on Arnold Grove, George Harrison’s childhood home! The 2nd photo is Strawberry Fields.

The above 2 images are Penny Lane, the “shelter in the middle of the roundabout”, and the Barber Shop (it says Tony on it in red letters).

Joe and I also enjoyed the Fab 4 cafe, the Liverpool museum, and eating fish and chips at the Pier Head by the Albert Docks.
