I made a Monogrammed “Lay Flat” Makeup Bag

I have made some of these lay flat cosmetic bags in the past, both as gifts and for myself. They are very convenient because the design allows you to see all of the makeup at once, unlike some bags. This project was on my mind for a while because I wanted to use the pretty “AM”/ “MA” which was inspired by the V&A Marie Antoinette Style exhibit (see blog post here)

I purchased the embroidery file from a lady on Etsy (here) and a wonderful place in Bowling Green, Ohio called “3 chords” did the embroidery work onto the fabric I provided.

I used a very pretty pink toile print fabric for this, and believe it or not, its a kitchen towel from Marshalls! It’s so hard to find fabric now that Joanns closed, but this was a fun creative option, and inexpensive.
