I have been sewing constantly during this unusual Covid 19 situation, and one of my fun projects has been making these pajamas for my husband. Remarkably, I was able to find a true-vintage Simplicity sewing pattern on Etsy, printed in 1944! Joe came with me to JoAnn Fabrics to pick out the material, a nice soft navy blue. For an added touch a friend of mine was very kind to embroider the pocket with his initials. In doing this pattern I came to realize patterns this old sometimes come with absolutely no markings on them, so that was a bit unusual. It was also an opportunity to practice buttonholes, which have always been intimidating for me. All in all I think these turned out pretty nice, and best of all Joe says they are comfortable and he likes them.
