Last year I became fascinated with some fashion related concepts which have completely framed my entire fashion strategy going forward. I need to do an entire post about this one day, but in summery, I had a professional seasonal color analysis done, and I found out my Kibbe body type and Kitchener Essence. My color season is “Deep Autumn”, my Kibbe body type is “Soft Dramatic”, and my Kitchener Essence is “Romantic”. In learning these attributes about myself, I have made it my goal to sew my perfect wardrobe with these ideas in mind. It is not a real serious thing, but a fun and delightful way for me to make fashion even more fun that it already was.

So keeping this in mind, as a “Romantic” type, the soft feminine clothing looks cohesive for my look, as does a deep autumn color palette. I found a fabric at Joann’s with the prettiest assortment of colors from my deep autumn palette in a rose motif. I also came across a sewing pattern I resonated with, from the year 2006, which features peasant blouses with voluminous sleeves. This is McCall’s M5050. I like view C to start with because I like how ribbons cinched in the sleeves. I just loved the overall look!

I like the colors in this fabric! I chose a contrasting but complimentary red velvet ribbon for the cinched sleeves and the bow tacked on the center front. I prefer wearing a belt with the blouse for added waist definition but it looks alright without the belt. The center and neckline are cinched with elastic. This pattern was very easy! I will likely be making some more blouses like this because of how gorgeously feminine this silhouette is! Truly, peasant blouses are a timeless addition to any wardrobe, and they always look ladylike and effortless.
