Warmer Weather Sewing Inspirations 2026

As we enter March, I’m finally able to look forward to my two favorite seasons on the horizon, spring and summer. We will be attending the Stitch Festival in London in less than 3 weeks, so I am compiling a bit of inspiration for sewing patterns to plan on, and fabrics to seek out at the festival.

Zimmerman

I love the mixing of patterns, the lace details, the ruffles, and the balloon sleeves on these pieces by Zimmerman.

Sezane

Sezane has some lovely spring blouses with lace insets, and I really feel inspired by how they look almost like vintage table linens. I am certainly going to make something similar. Like the Zimmerman striped example above, we again see a mixing of a similar color palette.

Boden (except for the jumpsuit noted)

The Farm Rio jumpsuit is adorable. Boden features more delicate, feminine blouses with lace details. The tiered skirt is appealing!

Pinterest Tablecloth-Made Blouses

Here are some ideas I saw in Pinterest for blouses made of tablecloths.

Vintage 70s Butterick 5284 has some similar balloon sleeve blouses with lace detail. I like the fitted waist on these.

Vogue 8321 Struck a chord with me immediately. I LOVE a wrap blouse (or dress). These are universally flattering and the lace and sleeves here are top notch!

Another recent ebay score Simplicity 6290 has so much potential for the season! I’m especially drawn to #4 with an idea to make a blouse out of a vintage embroidered tablecloth. But my main reason for going ahead with buying this pattern is view #2 because I think that blouse would be a good one to try to get over my fear of buttonholes. Again we see the balloon sleeve trend here!

McCalls 5539 View C, that jumpsuit! I’m thinking this could be a great pattern to launch a look inspired by the Farm Rio jumpsuit above. I like the bows down the front of the bodice, and the cinched waist.
