My Favorite Things I Sewed in 2025

It’s the last day of 2025, and it’s fun to look back at some of the many sewing projects I completed this year. I’m already excited about some I have planned in 2026. Sometimes I marvel and think how thankful and blessed I am that my grandma taught me this skill when I was 8 years old. The world can be a dark place, but sewing keeps me going.

In no particular order, here are my favorite creations of the year!

McCalls 8005 – Inspired by Dolce & Gabbana, this skirt is made of various scraps from other sewing projects.

I made 2 DVF wrap dresses this year (V2000 sewing pattern). One in lipstick print and the other in 70’s style orange geometric print.

This peasant blouse is a McCalls sewing pattern published in 2006, M5050

This was my big long term project of the year, Vogue 1977 coat. The bigger project was hand painting the QM2 on the back.

From a favorite vintage sewing pattern, Butterick 7943. I made this dress to wear to the Glamour of the Seas exhibit in Liverpool.

Here are a few sewing projects for Milan Frocktails. Joe is wearing Butterick 3049. I am wearing corset Butterick B5935, and skirt M8005.

Last but not least, B6720 coat
