After sailing on the Cunard’s QM2 Transatlantic Fashion Week from NYC to Southampton, England, we eventually found ourselves in London. The ultimate fashion moment to top off an already extremely fashion filled journey, was to visit the incredible Marie Antoinette Style exhibit at the V&A. I saw 2 other ladies from the ship there!
On a past trip I learned the hard way of you want to see a popular fashion exhibit there, buy your tickets early! I bought my ticket for this many months in advance, and naturally they had sold out, so I am glad I did.
This exhibit was everything I could have dreamed. It has inspired me continually ever since! I can assure you, it will be the inspiration for my next Dressmaker’s Ball look! I was Marie Antoinette for Halloween in 2009 and sewed the costume, and hot glue gunned a bunch of birds, bows, and feathers into a 10″ wig.
Below are some photos of some of my favorite things at the exhibit to give you an idea of how fabulous this was! The exhibit is open until March 22, 2026.
