Wishing you a happy Valentine’s Day!
As an old soul, I find such cuteness and beauty in the aesthetic of Valentine cards of yesteryear. My favorites are the Victorian era, and the 1940’s/ 1950s.
With the help of my favorite photographer, we were able to put a couple concepts together, which have been adapted into some “modern vintage” Valentine cards of my own making. This has been a very fun project to work on.
First we have here, my take on a late Victorian era Gibson Girl inspired Valentine.

Here are a few actual Valentine’s from the Victorian era. I can hardly take it! These are so special and elegant! I love the fonts, and the decorative drawings and elements.
Next, I wanted to pay homage to my love of sewing, particularly vintage sewing. Here are some pin up crafsters which inspired the idea.

Here are the Valentine’s I made up…

Then we had a baking theme with this cute apron. Yes it is the same apron Charlotte wears on SATC! I sought one out on ebay a while ago.

Lastly, I had these super cute Valentine Pajamas!

Here are more examples of pin up Valentines, actual ones from the past.

Here I am with my husband and Valentine. 🙂
