Making McCall’s M7977 – A very feminine Sezane-Like Ruffle V-Yoke Blouse

Sewing pattern: M7977

This pattern, M7977, has been very popular among the girly girls of the sewing community, as it is a perfect sewing pattern to replicate the popular Sezane (French fashion label) blouses with the ruffled V yokes! I first discovered the pattern from a popular sewing Youtube channel I watch, Gina Seams. Here is one of the videos she posted about this pattern, and she has since made a few more versions of it in different fabrics.

This pattern lends itself well to many fabrics and especially to lace trim embellishments. It was a very easy blouse to sew, and I made it in one day. I like the elastic channel in the waist and arms for the fitted silhouette. I made my blouse in a Liberty paisley featuring colors that work great with my “Deep Autumn” color palate. I added some lace trim to the ruffled yoke and sleeves, and some different lace (cut away) in the yoke. I’m very happy with the end product!
